Noranda, an aluminum foil plant in Huntingdon, may be on the market for sale, but Huntingdon Mayor Dale Kelley does not believe there will be an interruption in production.

¡°They have put it on the market, but it probably won¡¯t be until the first of July before a bid is accepted,¡± Kelley said. ¡°This is a very productive plant, very profitable that is operating at 100 percent capacity.¡±

Noranda has about 400 employees in Huntingdon.

The Franklin-based company, which filed for bankruptcy protection from its creditors under Chapter 11 in February, is seeking court approval to auction its aluminum products business, including two facilities in Huntingdon.
